To simplify pricing and offer the same value-added service, Crossroads Hostel Manila will now offer our PhP699/night per guest on a daily basis. Security Deposit is not yet included in the rate and can be remitted upon checking in.
Only paid reservations will be honored as reserved and all other guests can do the same by paying promo rates using Online Travel Agencies such as Expedia, Hostelorld.com, and Traveloka.
The rate adjustment will help Crossroads Hostel Manila provide the same type of service and hospitality only we know how in this area — at least.
To make a reservations, we ask you to see us first using our Facebook Page and book thru our message box. We will reply and answer more of your questions as it comes.
We’re now launching the new pricing and will continue to honor paid up bookings prior to the launching of  this new policy.

HELP IS HERE! As our way to help those who need it: if you’re working in the area of Ortigas tomorrow, Monday, 13th August and in need of a warm-dry place to stay because your home is affected by the current weather system, we’re extending a special offer to you to help you cope with the current conditions we’re facing.
Any one who checks in today, Sunday, 12 August until Wednesday, 15th of August and books directly with us — for as long as we have a place to offer — we’re giving PhP300 discount on our already low daily rates. The residual rates will help us maintain the place and it will help you cope with daily expenses you need.
Discounts are ONLY APPLICABLE thru direct and walk-in bookings and on regular rates.
We will not apply the discounts on bookings made thru agoda.com, booking.com, expedia.com, hostelworld.com, traveloka.com, and other online travel agency sites offering our services.
Senior discounts and Persons with Disability discounts still apply over discounted rates.
All guests availing the discounts and checking in must have valid government-issued IDs and must pay cash with security deposits upon checking in.
We close our doors at 8pm for security reasons so all guests getting this deal must check in before this time. Check out times are still 12NN daily.

Tired of paying more for a business meeting and appointment for you or your staff? This is the place to go.
Why? We meet your business budget to have a decent and secured space where budget is not a problem. We’re affordable at PhP699/night/guest and you have premium access to our hostel amenities such as 50mbps wifi, heated showers, aircon dorm rooms, free access to kitchen, and more at a fraction of a cost of what you may pay for a place in this Central Business District area.
We attract business people and those who have commitments in Ortigas and why not? We’re a minute walk to the Shaw Boulevard MRT station where you can ride this going to the airport for a total budget of only PhP40.00/way.
As it is, traditional motels and inns offer higher rates but don’t really provide value-added service. 3-Star Hotels are good and very comfortable, but most business people wouldn’t want to shell out more money for they just stay there to sleep. Spending more than PhP3,500/night is not really cost efficient.
As a shared accommodation, Crossroads Hostel Manila is a growing alternative (and favorite!) for business owners and business professionals. We offer shared spaces among travelers with bunk beds (double-deck beds) that allow more guests to room in giving some travelers the ability to have co-workers join them in one room.
It’s an optimal choice for small business owners with limited budget, likewise, big businesses can take advantage of it too who sends group of delegates to Metro Manila.
Again for as little as PhP599/guest/night (Weekday nights rate) versus PhP1,000+/guest/night in other nearby accommodations, Crossroads Hostel Manila offers full use of their kitchen and its amenities, air-conditioned rooms, secured lockers, heated showers, cable television viewing and comfortable single beds complete with bedding and towels and many more. Their Internet access is up to 50mbps using cable broadband technology so more people can share Internet speed.
Not only is it affordable but it offers decent rooms and functional amenities

Key words people used when they did Google search:

  • “Hostel in or near Ortigas or Accommodation in Ortigas”
  • “Cheapest hotel along EDSA or along Shaw Boulevard”
  • “Budget Rooms for rent in Ortigas”
  • “Bed space for rent near Ortigas”
  • “Affordable rooms near EDSA or Ortigas”

WE’RE SCRATCHING OUR HEADS what to do with the recently approved tax reform in my country. While it gives more small companies like Crossroads Hostel leeway in shielding itself from Value Added Tax (VAT), it will have to contend with the advent of having to pay more in operations cost making it more challenging for us to offset the cost of utilities especially in the coming summer months of March.
Summer, like anywhere else in the world, is increasingly getting warmer and that means higher use of air-conditioners to cool yourself off and more frequent times to open the refrigerators to get your cold drinks or to freeze your drinks.
That’s a lot of money.
Electricity rates in The Philippines are on of the highest in Asia (16th in the World!) and it’s extra challenging for us to get more people to go to The Philippines, let alone have them stay in our hostel because of appointments they have in the nearby Ortigas area.
We’ll take the challenge and hopefully, we’ll come out a winner because whatever investment our guests give us, we put it back to develop our hostel further.
Here’s to creativity in how to get things right.

'Tis the season for planning.

‘Tis the season for planning.

Christmas and New Year’s days are a special time for Crossroads Hostel Manila. We will use this time, not only celebrating it with our hardworking staff and family but to also perform general cleaning and do some up-keeping so we’ll be able to welcome more guests and people in the coming New Year.
Guests who have checked in and decided to continue staying with us can do so without further hassles. Those who will decide to come in and stay during these days are asked to do their part to keep the hostel clean from their dormitories to the kitchen.
Thank you for reading and we look forward to a better and wonderful times ahead.
Mabuhay!

Effective immediately, we’re giving 10% privilege to active government personnel who will be staying with us from this day on.
This is no stunt. We have nothing to gain from this. It is just right to give public servants this privilege as they work hard to meet their monthly budget as they travel to Metro Manila to fulfill their obligations in light of their work in service.
We were moved to do this as frequent travelers from the Department of Trade and Industry Baguio and other provinces come to this part of the region to expose a ton of indigenous products that will surely make any Filipino proud. These workers, with their meager budget and per diem, spend an average of three nights in our hostel and they do a lot of good to our creative and hardworking entrepreneurs and workers in the provinces to offer their products to adventurous kababayans and/or foreigners coming to expos in the nearby SM Megamall.
This initiative will surely help them meet their budget and provide them with more power to their purse and enjoy the work they do while they’re here in this part of Metro Manila.
To you who are working for our government, just show your Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) card, Civil Service Commission card, or your active and valid government-issued ID and we’ll extend you the markdown rate immediately. The discount is applied to both regular or promo rate to give you more mileage to your stay with us.  This can also be in conjunction with existing discounts we provide to give you more advantage.
More power to you an see you soon in our hostel.

It's time to give them something in return

Military Veterans and Senior Citizens (Lolo and Lola), though count only as a very minor part of our growing number of guests, are a great source of our country’s pride and treasure. They’ve served our country and most especially our family well and that’s why it would be very fitting to honor them with this incentive, which is nothing new in our government system but appropriately well for a business like mine.
According to Section 4, articles a1 and 7 of Republic Act 9994 or the Expanded Senior Citizens Act, a 20% discount is given to any senior citizen who is defined to be above 60 years of age utilizing the services of hotels and/or any other similar establishments. That being so, Crossroads Hostel Manila is declaring the same honor and virtue to any lolo and lola of our country without distinction of nationality, creed, belief, and status.
As for military veterans as defined by the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO), Crossroads Hostel Manila is extending a 20% discount privilege and benefits to all and every honorably discharged members of our military service.
The best thing about applying this discount to our dear veterans and seniors is that you can put one discount on top of the other, hereby, providing a senior who is also a military veteran a 40% discount on our published and discounted rate.
This is our property’s way of saying, Thank you and thank you for all the sacrifices and hard work you’ve extended our families, our nation.

Getting rain-stuck should never be part of your travel plans

Getting rain-stuck should never be part of your travel plans

Crossroads Hostel Manila is situated on top of a hill. This makes the hostel safer and in a better position because it’s practically flood-free. Times are very unpredictable in Metro Manila where streets in low-lying areas can get flooded when rain-heavy clouds pass through even if there aren’t any typhoons in the area. What makes this hostel strategic is that it’s just a block a way from the main thoroughfare where visitors can easily trek over and ride the metro rail transit train (MRT) or the bus or even catch a taxi. In fact, just walk further down the intersection where EDSA and Shaw intersects you can get more cozy and fulfilled after enjoying a hot cup of coffee in any of the shopping malls nearby: Shangri-La Plaza, StarMall, and SM Megamall.
And in case you get stranded because of untimely weather disturbance, all you need to do is to get to us and we’ll practically crash the rate at PhP250/night. Now that’s something useful for a lot of local travelers!
This and so much more are reasons why Crossroads Hostel Manila is a practical destination for budget travelers heading off to Metro Manila. Book today and get the traveler’s advantage that more and more business and leisure visitors are soon discovering here at Crossroads Hostel Manila.

Kristoffer Atienza signs contract with Globe represented by SDI that facilitates Globe Charge

We’re glad to announce that we’re joining the ranks of properties that will now accept credit cards as Crossroads Hostel Manila will soon employ the power of Globe Charge payment system. We’re so happy to be fulfilling our goals to make it easier for travelers to avail our services, one that will bring them more convenience. Travelers who don’t have cash with them but carry VISA and MasterCard can check in to the hostel with ease. The Globe Charge device is easily attached to any smartphone that turns it into a payment gateway for VISA and MasterCard credit cards.

Before, customers transact through our Paypal system  (although you can elect to do this also) but not they can pay directly when they Check In. Only bank-issued credit cards will be allowed and Debit Cards will follow suit as soon as Globe updates its system.

We can’t wait for the activation of our account and our system so we can extend more help to more guests from all over the country and all over the world. Globe Charge is facilitated by Sandoval Distributors, Incorporated (SDI). The agreement was signed today with operations administrator, Anna Giselle San Pedro of SDI and hostel owner, Kristoffer C. Atienza.

PWD

It’s just right to help PWDs. (image from diaryongtagalog.net)

Crossroads Hostel Manila will extend further discounts to Persons with Different Abilities (we prefer to call them that instead of ‘People with Disabilities’ or PWDs) or people with physical handicaps. They are as productive and as privileged as any citizen in this country, we believe.
The hostel will give them instant PhP25.00 discount per person, per night as its way to support their daily budgetary needs.
We’re not proud that we’re not 100% PDA-friendly, meaning, CHM is not equipped to have guides, ramps for wheel chairs, brail signs for the blind, and other tools and means to make their stay more enjoyable, but just the same this effort is a start and a recognition of providing them deals that will help them in their budget, at least.
